Condominiums in Tiergarten
The modern condominiums in this ensemble of buildings occupy an excellent location in the Hansaviertel quarter of Tiergarten district in the centre of Berlin’s inner city. As a residential area, Hansaviertel is defined by several architectural eras. The southern edge of the district is fringed by the avenue Strasse des 17. Juni and dominated by campus buildings of the University of Technology and several government authorities.
The quarter around Flotowstrasse is characterised by an optimal blend of green spaces, riverside promenades and popular hot spots in the City West high-street district with its many stores, restaurants, cinemas and theatres. Kurfürstendamm—the splendid boulevard for which City West is famous—is only one stop away on the rapid transit system. A walk of mere minutes will take you to Grosser Tiergarten, one of the most scenic inner-city parklands of Berlin with its meandering footpaths, broad avenues, an English Garden and sprawling meadows. It is great place for promenading or taking it easy, and it is bisected by several large boulevards such as Strasse des 17. Juni with the iconic Victory Column at Grosser Stern.
Living in Tiergarten – a Central yet very Green District
Tiergarten with its population of over 14,500 is part of the borough of Mitte, as is the district of Wedding to its north. It plays a key role both for tourism and commerce in vibrant Berlin. In addition to landmark destinations such as Potsdamer Platz with its nearby Kulturforum or the zoo with its aquarium, Tiergarten is most prominently home to the seat of the Federal Government on Spreebogen and a large number of embassies.
Charming places that have helped to shape Berlin’s cultural scene for decades are also located in direct proximity to the apartment building on Flotowstrasse. These include the University of the Arts, which hosts exhibitions, concerts and readings, the famous Grips Theatre and the Royal Porcelain Factory Berlin, which offers tours through the shops and has a store and café on the premises. Not least, a rich variety of gastronomic venues enhances the area around Flotowstrasse. Tiergartenquelle, a traditional German restaurant, lies practically next door and is a great place to hang out after work. Alternatively, you may seek out one of the restaurant boats on Landwehrkanal, also nearby, if you fancy a maritime flair, or head north for coffee and cake in an old-school Berlin setting at the “Buchwald” pastry shop.
These amenities together with the superb transport links—underground and rapid transit stations being within walking distance—and the area’s balanced infrastructure make the multi-unit dwellings on Flotowstrasse particularly attractive for people who love living in the heart of metropolitan Berlin while appreciating peace and quiet.
